The smash cake I made for Piggie Smalls.  It was red velvet with butter cream frosting!
My mother-in-law making Tres Leches with fresh strawberries in the middle! SO good...
I'll be posting the recipe for Tres Leches soon, it's to die for.
My first attempt at decorating cupcakes

I am so happy to report that Piggie Smalls' birthday party was a hit.  Last week was crazy, probably more so with my nerves than anything else.  I was super emotional over Piggie turning 1 year old; something just felt sad about him leaving behind his first year!

But the food turned out amazing!  I had a panic moment when I took the lid off my meat once we had set up at the park and there was no NC pulled pork flavor!  Then I realized there had only been one container of my sauce poured on the meat, so I grabbed my second container and poured it over the meat and re-tasted it...and yep, that did it.  Phew!  All the desserts were wonderful; my mother-in-law also made Arroz con Leche in addition to making a huge Tres Leches cake.  I'm finally over my fear of throwing a party because it all turned out so perfect!
I'm looking forward to another amazing year with my little Piggie Smalls!
