The law of attraction is the general name given to a concept that almost all religions and great leaders teach. You don't need to understand it or even believe in it; it's always working in your life regardless. It is the theory that states like attracts like. You're attracting to you the essence of energy that you're putting out by way of your thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. So even if you aren't aware of the law of attraction, you're always thinking and feeling and therefore creating your reality (one that is uniquely your own).
Once you do know about this theory, you can then begin to think and feel differently on purpose so that you bring whatever reality you want into your experience. This is where it gets really fun.
I'm going share with you the basic steps of applying the law of attraction in order to manifest anything you want. It could be financial abundance, love, friends, a dream home, an awesome vacation, an improved marriage, an improved anything, etc!
1. Decide what you really want
When you're first starting out, this could be a tough question to answer. Spend a few days thinking about it if you need to. Thinking about what you currently don't like can give you an idea for what you do want. Sometimes when I'm in a rut, I do exactly that: write down everything I'm not liking and underneath it I write how I would like that situation to be.
What's something you've always wanted? What's something you've always seen yourself doing? What could you talk about for hours? What gets you excited? What does your IDEAL life look like? If money wasn't a factor, what job would you have? Where would you be living? What would you be doing?
Tips:
- make sure it's something you actually want, not something you think you should want
- you don't need a reason for wanting it; just you simply wanting it is reason enough for you to have it or experience it
- the excitement you feel when you think about it is a clue that it's something your true self desires and that you're meant to manifest it.
After you have written down a few things you want to manifest, write down next to them how you will feel after each one has materialized. This is important because you want to recall this feeling everytime you think about your dream. Emotions speed up manifestation.
2. Believe it's on it's way
Replace "I'll believe it when I see it" with "I'll see it when I believe it."
Most of us believe only what's in front of us to be reality, when really everything is energy and everything changes in accordance to the way we feel and perceive our realities to be. And it can change quickly.
In order to bring your dream into what we call reality, believe that it's already waiting for you. The Universe will then begin arranging people and circumstances to bring it to you. Don't think of it as being in the future, but just simply know that it's already yours and it's on it's way.
One manifesting technique that really helps me with this is creating a magic box. I'm able to "let it go" rather than hold onto the desire with a feeling of lack or desperation for it. Nothing can ever manifest if we feel desperate for it or feel the lack of it in our realities, because then the LOA will just keep giving us the feeling of lack.
You have feel and believe that it's yours, and rest in that assurance that the Universe is taking care of it for you.
3. Visualize it
Visualizing is so powerful. We all visualize, intentionally or not. Have you ever been thinking about a person who upset you and you picture confronting them and all the things you would say? You continue to have these thoughts and then eventually, the confrontation happens. Using your mind to see a future outcome is literally inviting the essence of that thing into your experience. So, use it to your benefit rather than against yourself.
This is why it's so helpful to have thought about and written down exactly what you want. Now, every day, spend a few minutes envisioning only the end result of your dream. Don't even try to figure out how it's going to happen, just see it clearly in your mind having or doing whatever it is you want to experience. I usually do this at night before falling asleep.
Feel how you would feel if it manifested right now. Would you feel ecstatic? Amazed? Free? Abundant? Accomplished? Successful? Feel that feeling right now and anytime you think about your dream. In my law of attraction worksheet bundle, there's a visualization guide that you can fill out for each dream and then read over every night. This guide helps me because I am quickly reminded of how I will feel and helps me stay focused on the end result, not how it's going to come about.
When you're visualizing, you're literally pulling the dream out of the ethers and into your physical reality. The Universe/your subconscious mind really doesn't care if what you're envisioning is "real" or not, it's just responding to the vibrations you're putting out. And if you're vibrating a really awesome job that you just absolutely love even while going to a job you don't really like in the meantime, it is law that you will receive that reality.
Like the law of gravity, the law of attraction works no matter what and it's not biased. It will also keep sending you the reality of a crappy job if that's what you continually dwell on day in and day out. So start using your imagination in your favor and dwell on things you actually want while feeling good about them.
4. Follow your bliss
This is the action part. Mike Dooley explains this step so perfectly: just like you can plug in a destination into your GPS system and it will know the quickest, fastest way there...the Universe will do the same for you as long as your car is in drive. Your GPS doesn't start working until your car is moving. Once you're moving, you'll be told which route to take.
I've heard many theories on what "taking action" means when it comes to manifesting. One theory is to put yourself out there into the world, which could mean a bunch of things. Another theory is to keep doing everything you're doing now but with an attitude of gratitude. And another is to follow what lights you up. This is the one that resonates the most with me.
Figure out what makes you happy, what you can talk about for hours or something you've always felt drawn to do. It could be anything, old or new. But just DO IT. And continue doing everything else in your life from a different perspective. Go to the job you're not content with but go with a different attitude. Do the dishes for the 100th time while being grateful that you have dishes to wash, or daydreaming about a project, or listening to a podcast. Do everything with a lighthearted attitude and follow your bliss daily.
It may sound cheesy but it isn't. It's serious business because your attitude will attract your next moment. We can choose to feel good and attract more things that will make us feel good, or we can choose to feel bad and attract more things to feel bad about.
Recap
- Decide what you want and how it would make you feel
- Believe that it's on it's way
- Visualize it while feeling the way you want to feel once you receive it
- Follow your bliss. Don't base it around whether it will bring you money or not, just do it. Paint, write, dance, sing, carve, sculpt, run, CREATE. Do what makes you happy and do it every day.

Ah, okay. I'm really liking this. I feel like something just happened to me last week that was totally the Law of Attraction. I need to try to spend more time thinking and manifesting things in my life. There's a lot I want to happen. 🙂
Jessica Dimas
Yes, you should! It gets really fun manifesting all kinds of different things 🙂

Yes!! The LOA is absolutely a major part of my every day. Am I the poster child for always thinking postively to manifest what I really want, NO. I really need to work on this. In fact, for over the past week I have been telling myself that I need to read more and work on manifesting what I want. No joke. Every night I pray with my daughter and I tell her that she "should be always thinking positive happy thoughts," "thoughts are things," and that she "attracts what she thinks about," but here I am not following suit. I found you via the Collective link up. Clearly, I was attracted to your blog. Thank you for sharing this post. I see you have many other great posts. I'm going to spend more time here soaking in all the goodies!! Thank you!!

That is SO awesome that you found my blog through that link up and that you are also into the LOA. I totally feel you, it's not always easy to stay on top of your manifesting game! I have a LOA book coming out next month with lots of worksheets that come with it, I'm excited because I feel like with the LOA, you NEED to have it sorted out and have the daily reminders. I love that you tell your daughter those things before she goes to bed, I need to start doing the same with my sons!

Hi! I have a personal question regarding the Law of Attraction. Do you have an email where I can write you? My email is lvelez@lymarivelez.com
Jessica Dimas
Hi Lymari, I'll email you!
Cecilia
Thank you so much Jessica for reminding me of the beauty of practicing the Law of Attraction!! I've been dwelling on certain projects I've hold off, but in reality there is no excuses. Making moves is what I will do and in the end I will feel as an accomplished mother of two and a happy wife! Thank you!

Please add me to your email list. I would love to be apart of the LOA community. I'm a dreamer. I spend a lot of time seeing myself in positions other than what I currently have going on.
