My Blogging Schedule

It seems like everytime I read posts from mom bloggers about when they find the time to blog....they have kids that actually sleep. Like amazing 20 hour long afternoon naps or their kids are all in bed for the night by 4PM. Well I don't have kids that sleep during the day. At least not ever at the same time. And they don't go to bed early either, so there's that too. We like to keep the torture fest going 24/7 over here!

My goal is to post three times a week, with one of those posts being my blog hop. I like that goal because it keeps the blogging juices fresh without overwhelming me. I love blogging, but if I were to try to post five times a week, it would feel like a chore. Nor could I come up with that much quality content. I would just be posting to post something.
Other factors I take into consideration are reading and commenting on other blogs. I like to check my favorite blogs frequently plus new blogs from readers who have commented on my blog. For me, this is an important part of blogging because it builds community and loyal readership (ie friendships!!). It's easiest for me if I do this daily throughout the week rather than once or twice a week so it's not so overwhelming.
And then there is social media. Which I kind of suck at cause I hate to be spammy. I think my favorite platform to connect with the blogging community on is Instagram, cause we all share real snippets of our days over there and it's not spammy at all. We're not even promoting our blogs most of the time. I'm losing my point...social media is a necessary to get your blog posts out there, but I don't let it consume me.
Okay, so....how do I personally schedule everything while being a mama to two little boys during the day? My schedule kinda looks like this (cause I don't really have a true, set schedule):
Sunday night: write my blog posts for the week, or at least Monday's post and my blog hop.

Monday morning: share blog post on social media
Monday night: read and comment on blogs

Tuesday night: share blog hop on social media // read and comment on blogs // schedule Wednesday's tweets on Hootsuite for my blog hop features

Wednesday morning: share blog hop on social media
Wednesday night: read and comment on blogs

Thursday night: write blog post if I didn't write it on Sunday

Friday morning: share blog post on social media

Mon-Fri random times throughout day: check email and respond to comments

That's pretty much a rough summary of my blogging schedule. And by random times I mean when at least one of my kids are napping and the other one is entertained, or when they're outside playing and I can take a moment to respond to comments.

I really have to wait until they're asleep at night to do anything FOR REAL when it comes to blogging. If I try to blog when they're awake, I have to battle little hands slapping the keyboard and them beating each other up cause they see I'm not looking, which makes Mommy's eye start twitching. It's not pretty, people.
How do you fit in blogging? What's your schedule like?
