A day in our life, through photos, taken in late October.
Wakey, wakey
Always this, first thing.
Getting breakfast started.
Waiting on their breakfast. We've been letting Piggie play a video game before Luis leaves for work in the mornings. He lives for this moment every day!
Homemade buttermilk pancakes (best recipe ever, and trust me because I searched for many moons and went through so many dud pancake recipes before discovering this one) eggs, bacon, fruit.
I've been craving grits recently. You can take the girl out of the South but you can't take the South out of the girl! Luis thinks I'm disgusting.
It's hard to see, but this is a significant pile of dirt I found on the floor. The suspect in question is pretending to look at it for the first time, and the Mickey Mouse push toy behind him is what he used to transport the dirt inside. Despicable, I tell ya!
Daniel Tiger time so I can clean for a bit!
My mom stopped over to visit, bless her soul.
Watering the trees. The excitement is overwhelming, I know.
Winding down for nap time after my mom left.
Delivery! Now this is true excitement for a stay-at-home mom!
We went into the playroom and played blocks. I was actually taken aback by how engrossed Dacky became. His attention span for things is getting longer and longer!
I took them to our bed so we could read a few books. Then we wrestled and Piggie almost knocked me out for real, fun times.
Dinner time! I made this pasta, Bacon Lover's Mac & Cheese. It's one of Luis' favorite meals.
Hung my new schedule up on the fridge that I wrote while my mom was over. We were all out of sorts after our trip to NC, so I needed a blueprint of a routine to help us get back on track. And like, seriously, I need a reminder to feed my kids. For real. Sometimes I wonder, "Why are they so dang whiney???" Oh yeah, cause they haven't eaten in 5 hours, that's probably why.
Found them here before dinner, watching a butterfly outside our front window.
After dinner cleanup.
Dacky always leaves me the biggest mess. Tonight was not so bad.
Last pic of the day. Trying to drink coffee in the fetal position alone but Dacky had other plans. They always do!
