Dacky's 6 Month Update

Poor Dacky. He's almost 7 months old this week. With Pig, I posted on like, the day he turned 6 months. But really, if you think about it, this past month has been his 6th month, so I shouldn't post until he's 7 months in order to really capture how he was at 6 months. Still with me? No? Neither am I.

Okay so this is probably going to send me to mommy hell in a handbasket, but I have a confession to make - Dac wasn't exactly...how can I put this...the cutest baby I'd ever seen when he was first born. ALRIGHT, I SAID IT, START THE THROWING OF STONES!

I remember when I first saw him, I thought to myself "Ohhh...okay...well, you can't expect to have two beautiful children in a row Jessica, stop being greedy!" Hahaha Luis and I have laughed until we cried making jokes about our first reactions upon seeing him after he was just born. He said I shouldn't confess this publicly but...I'm just keepin it real people!

He was a just a late bloomer. One of those babies that starts out a little on the rough side but blossoms into a full blown cutie before the year is up! {Seriously, how shallow do you think I am so far?}

But really...aren't most babies like that anyway? A little debatable when first born but total cuties once their face unscrunch themselves. No? Am I definitely going to hell?

I'm so far off track.

Dacky's 6th month has been full of cuteness and hilarity. He's constantly getting into things and has so much attitude. He yells for me now instead of crying. He does this weird bounce thing when he's sitting cause he can't ever keep still. He likes to suck on puzzle pieces and Starbucks bottle caps but generally wants nothing to do with his own toys.

He is crawling! About two little crawls at a time before he either cries or falls to his stomach. Then he gets right back up and almost does this weird, dog lunge forward.

He has the most beautiful blue eyes. Luis and I have brown eyes, so I don't know how or why we keep having children with colored eyes {Luis said he's wondered the same thing LOL}. It's like we create some sort of weird, recessed gene in our children that cause them to have these gorgeous eyes.

When Dac wakes up at night, he pushes himself up with his arms and looks around, and then smiles once we lock eyes. It's usually at some ungodly hour but damn it, I can't resist that face. I will hug and kiss him, change his diaper {cause 5 in the morning is his favorite time to have a blowout}...and then hand him off to Luis! He's obligated to do this since I have to nurse Dac all night. Fair trade off. Why not try this out - http://ohangie.se/

Dacky is a little warrior; constantly being slapped, pinched, and kicked by his brother, but he hangs tough and hardly ever cries. This scares me a little bit because it means he won't mind rough play. But could I really expect anything less from boys? Don't they live for this stuff? {Lord help me.}

This month Dac also wormed his way out of the swing more than once. Luis never straps him in so he always takes the opportunity to escape.

He's just an all around wiley rascal. With big, beautiful blue eyes and pouty lips. And one crazy mohawk. I'm lovin this little guy.
