Not that my life is miserable. More like it's mundane most of the time. There's making the kids breakfast every morning before they break down from hunger, sneaking in coffee for myself like a wonderful gift once they're eating, there's naps, diaper changes, tantrums, feeling like a crappy mom cause we don't do much besides hang around the house, picking up dog crap in the yard while yelling at the boys to please for the love of God stop hitting each other, bath time and then The Struggle every night to put the kids to sleep.
Once I had a mommy friend make some kind of comment about how I must have it together because I was able to bake homemade cookies while taking care of two little ones. I had to think of what she was even talking about and then I remembered an Instagam photo I'd taken of cookies I made when my mom came over and was entertaining the boys. I would just like to publicly admit, that whenever I post a photo, if I ever make a mom feel like I don't struggle or I always have a clean house or I always cook from scratch or if my boys are always little angels together....that that's not true. It's actually usually the opposite!
I just feel like we owe it to one another to be honest and open and real. Motherhood is like a sisterhood, we're the only ones who truly understand each other. We can share the good, bad and ugly all while knowing how very much we love our children even if we need to sit in silence and crack open a cold one after a long day. Or untwist a Nutella lid...to each their own.
Speaking of fake, I took a pic of myself for you guys cause I'm so bad at EVER posting pics of myself on here. I totally posed and took like 20 different shots and this was the best one. I pulled my hair around both sides to hide my ugly nursing bra straps. Also my hair isn't usually done, so there's that too. Oh and my eyebrows are filled in...usually I look like a psych ward patient without them. But look at the unstaged, super crappy background with random ladders and photo bombing dogs - score a point for realness! Anyway, just wanted to say hi!
