And we also went swimming one night. I took this pic on our way to the pool because something about sunsets and palm trees always gets me.
I feel like I had a mini revelation in the last few days. This past week has been amazing. Like, really good. Things that I've been wanting to happen actually happened. They were no longer sitting safe in my "things that will happen someday but not yet" little compartment of my imagination.
And it scared me. I feel like I've been wanting to jump into this awesome pool and thought about how amazing it would be when I'm in this pool, but just didn't have the courage yet to jump off the diving board, and someone just came up and pushed me off without warning. Falling down into this awesome pool was a scary rush, an intense "what if I don't like this awesome pool and what if I'm not capable of swimming in it!" type thoughts.
This quote explains it well:
"Usually the opposite of what we fear is our greatest fear." - Charles F. Glassman
But you know what...getting scared and freezing up and expecting the worst doesn't help you swim! It causes you to freak out and sink and you have to be pulled out of the awesome pool because you didn't have the confidence to stay calm and enjoy it. If I'm scared of success, I'll never succeed at any of my dreams. I'll always stay in the same spot in life. Never progressing and never growing as a person.
We can't live life believing we're destined to stay in the same spot forever. That we're destined to being stuck in a certain income bracket or career track, especially not if we dream of something bigger. Because our minds are powerful and dreams come true (quite easily, I might add), and when they do we can't freeze up and want to run back to the kiddie pool where it's safe and familiar. Hells no, you need to cannon ball that shit! Splash everyone else in the face and let 'em know you're there so move over!
We all deserve to be in the awesome pool. To have the things we're dreaming of. And when those things actually become a reality, we need to enjoy them. Realize you're meant to be in the awesome pool and have faith that you're capable of swimming in it.
