Our First Cold

Piggie Smalls napping while mama blogs

Well it finally happened: my sweet baby boy has caught the icky bug.  And who else to have given it to him than his own mama.  That's right, so both of us are suffering this week.

My hubby stayed home yesterday to take care of us, which was really helpful.  I got to sleep a few more hours than I would have normally.  I just feel so bad for my little guy because his nose is so stuffy.  He doesn't know how to sniff or blow his nose, so he's just stuck.

I'm taking half the recommended dosage of Dayquil and extra vitamin C.  The midwife said it was okay to take the regular dosage but I'm doing okay with half.  Usually I take Nyquil as well, but since we cosleep I don't want to get into too deep of a sleep.

Last night went better than expected actually.  He didn't fall asleep until midnight, which was draining, but he didn't wake up until 6am, which was nice.  (He woke up to nurse at 3am, but I don't count that since all I had to do was nurse him and we both fell back to sleep).  So I got 6 hours of sleep, which is about 5 more than I thought I was going to get 🙂

Today I plan on just laying around the house with Piggie, playing and napping.  Maybe I'll fit in a few chores or a load of laundry.  I made Piggie some pear puree this morning, which smelled delicious yet he didn't want anything to do with.  So I froze it and will keep at it!

Wish us luck on getting over this cold quickly, I miss my healthy Piggie Smalls!
