Banana Bread

Banana Bread

Servings 8-10
Makes one loaf or two smaller loaves

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 medium bananas, sliced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla, mix well. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt, stir into the butter mixture until smooth. Finally, fold in the sour cream, walnuts and bananas. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool loaf in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. {It sometimes takes mine 70 minutes to be completely done in the middle - I recommend to start watching it around the 50 minute mark and keep check every 5 minutes}.

I usually melt the butter, obviously I lost my mind while making it this time and used butter at room temperature. It came out the same.

Just pretend you see walnut here.

Just had to throw it in here that I love this Mexican vanilla blend!  So yummy!

Err...I meant to take a picture of the first slice I cut but it just couldn't wait.

Second slice before I devoured it too.

    I LOOOVE banana bread!! I hate to make it though, because then I want to eat it all myself - with loads of butter! Yumm!
