11 Months Old

Last week Piggie Smalls turned 11 months old.  It made me turn rather clingy!  My baby is growing up!  Where has this year gone, it feels like I was just pregnant with him.  I'm sad that he's reaching toddlerhood, but at the same time, all of the new things he does are just so neat and his little personality comes out more everyday.

Let's see, so far he has:

  • Gotten 4 teeth, with 2 more poking through.
The teething was bad with the two top ones.  Those were much more painful for him than the bottom two.  Thank goodness for Hyland's Teething Tablets!!  I'd give him 2 of those and they helped the pain immensely.  He's also become fond of biting since teething.
  • He started crawling!
He's been crawling for about 2 weeks now.  The first week he would slowing crawl with his head looking down to the ground, and then for the last week he's been crawling with his head up and smiling from ear and ear.  He finally realized he was actually crawling and getting himself somewhere.  He's a bit of a slow poke, as most 11 month old babies are already crawling and many are walking.  But I love my little laid-back, chubby Piggie Smalls.  He makes me laugh every day.
  • He said "mama" <3
In the morning he'll go "Maaa.  Mama.  Ma ma ma ma ma ma!"  Which is funny because that's how I used to practice saying it to him.  He only started this a few days ago, and he's whittled it down to saying "Ma" or "Mama".
  • Started solids
Okay not really, because he doesn't eat them every day, but he finally showed interest in solids.  Not purees, but whatever I'm eating.  So if I think he won't choke on it, I let him sample it.  Which has really gotten me to stop eating bad foods because I know I'm going to have to share with him.
He is such a happy baby.  He's a little cuddlebug, although he is really loving getting around on the floor to make his way to anything that has buttons.  He barely touches his baby toys all day long, he's too busy pulling curtains, shredding paper, turning the TV on and off, just basically getting into anything that he can.
I love this little rascal so much.  Some days I just hoover vacuum his face with my mouth!  I can't stop kissing and squeezing him.  I'm busy now planning his 1st birthday party, a bittersweet event.
