From ancient religious texts to descriptions of our friend's New Year's adventures, hire an essay writer is the primary means of storing and distributing information.
The written word is a marvelous mediator, messenger, custodian that has enabled humanity for centuries to express emotions, share thoughts, tell stories and, of course, sell.
Unfortunately, text has an inherent weakness: it is a static medium. We often forget that all we ever read is simply different combinations of specific letters of the alphabet, subject to some specific rules of punctuation and syntax.
Compared to relatively new media (media), such as photography or video, the possibilities of text are extremely limited. Photography and video can capture and then show the viewer a situation far more succinctly than words, figuratively speaking, "could ever hope to."
The sustained popularity of social media such as Instagram and Pinterest is a clear indication that people are finding visual media more appropriate for communicating their everyday experiences and feelings. Even Twitter has begun to foreground photos and videos, thus changing its initial textual essence.
But images and videos can never truly replace text - just ask any living writer what they think of the film adaptations of their books. The written word will always be needed to convey information - that's how it is right now, at the time of writing this very post.
Text has always been, is, and will always be a critical component in shaping a positive user experience. But users don't want to face a 'wall of content', nor do we - marketers, copywriters, bloggers - want to see a sneering evaluation of our labours in the comments.
We want readers to "grasp on the fly" the meaning of our offer, we want their user experience to be only positive, we want them to understand the essence of the offer from the word of mouth. We also want - and can! - To convey emotions through text, even if the "visual potential" of the written word is more modest than that of photographs or videos.
The seeming "pettiness" of textual presentation in web marketing can be compensated for by using certain techniques, which will be discussed below. Your reader may well develop a positive user experience from reading your text, whatever it may be: an advertisement, a landing page headline, a description of an offer on a landing page that sells, a social media post.
Rest assured, readers will notice your information, get to know it and remember it.
Personalising your typeface
Pseudoscientific discipline of graphology existed for about 200 years. Its adepts are believed to be able to identify personality traits through handwriting, and even detect neurological problems of a writer.
Total spread of electronic paperwork, wide use of printers and similar satellites of progress made the handwriting concept irrelevant. However, even electronic fonts can give a clue to a person's innermost being - our personality is indirectly defined by fonts we use in our e-mails, be it personal or business.
Use particular fonts in certain situations - for instance if you're applying for a job in a conservative, "traditional" business (banking, insurance) type your resume in the same "conservative" serif typeface as the Times. For a more modern business, Verdana is a good font to use.
Font size
Font size is also an important parameter. The obvious, well-established perception of text in relation to font size is that a larger font is an important element, such as a heading; a smaller font would be used to save page space for the main content. This is a tradition dating back to the origins of the book printing era.
By differentiating the size of the fonts, readers are drawn to the most important part of the text for the author (the title, the call to action).
Font colour
Colour is obviously the most influential psychological tool available to the web designer and internet marketer. A splash of colour that matches the context of the situation instantly puts the reader in the right emotional frame of mind.
Attention grabber
On a landing page, colour highlights the most important elements that a visitor needs to pay attention to: headlines, calls to action, tags, keywords and phrases. On a product landing page, highlighting in colour will work great for shifting a visitor's attention from scanner mode to reader mode.
This looks so fun! We don't do one-on-one activities with our kids enough, but you've definitely made me want to, even if this post is about a family walk! Now that it's cooling down we like going on walks in the evening before bed, and it has been so nice just to get out of the house! We'll have to try those Clif bars! The Oatmeal Cookie one sounds amazing!
I've missed your blog. So happy that I thought to check out your fb page and come visit. I'm never disappointed. Your free printable is the cutest thing ever. My children would love to do this daily.
How about winter walks though, you participate in those?! ? Oh wait... You're in Arizona (or somewhere) with sunshine year round. It's about to be a blizzard mess with snow to my waist in a couple months!!! =) Lol
Monica, long time no see!! I'm glad to hear you're doing well! Haha we definitely don't have to deal with blizzards but we have the opposite, 115 degree summer days, so I feel ya on certain parts of the year being near impossible to go on walks. Actually I feel like our "winter" months are coming to an end and we can finally venture outside without it feeling like an oven haha! ?
We are big on family walks. All great benefits, especially getting some of that energy out, haha!
My kids and I love going on walks! But, our neighborhood isn't really the best for it. It isn't horrible, but it's not particularly safe either. I'm hoping that by this time next year, we will be in a new house and in a new, family-friendly neighborhood. Then we will be walking all the time!
I hope you are too Marietta! I could definitely understand that situation, I've lived in some places before that were safe but were just...questionable haha.
Hi Jessica! Family walks are the best ? We have some of the best conversations with the girls when we go on walks. We definitely need to do them more often
Thanks for sharing us,
