Started the weekend off right with these flowers from Luis |
This weekend was full of highs and lows, tantrums and laughter, hand holding and face slapping...okay not really, but I wish I could've slapped Luis' face a few times.
Saturday was like any regular weekday - me at home with the kids. On the 6th day of this scenario, my eye starts twitching and I'm very restless. We still managed to go out for a date that night, but we were both on edge because we left a little later than usual, which meant the kids were going to be up waaay past their bedtimes = monsters. Also because I think we both would've preferred to just relax at home, but when you have two kids and a messy house, there is no relaxing. You have to get out.
Caught in action. They don't ever stop. Not even on Saturdays. #messedup |
On Sunday, we got up early for no reason. We planned on there being a reason, but nothing went down the way we thought it would, so we were awake for absolutely no...reason. Luis mowed the lawn while I sat in the driveway with the kiddos, spying on our neighbors. I've concluded the neighbors across the street are drug dealers. What else can explain random cars driving up with people who look like they haven't showered in a week or having a child go up to the door more than once while carrying something hidden in a sweater! Omg! And then I had to loudly berate Luis because he made out like I was the crazy one.
Sunday ended decently; Pig and I went to Home Depot where I picked up some paint samples. Then we headed over to Target where he ate dinner and then we shopped around for random stuff. We got Dac a sippy cup and some organic puffs, and then the potties were in the next aisle so of course he picked out the most expensive one. He refused to put it back nor could I hide it from him, not even the mentioning of Superman toys distracted him.
Noooo...he had to carry it to the front of the store, barely hoisting it above himself with his face directly in the potty hole. He stopped to sit on it every few steps while grunting until he was red in the face and then proclaiming "POOOOOP!" Everytime I tried to get him to stand up and continue walking, he'd whine really loud and yell "HELP ME!". He's always such a gem in public.

That was it. Got the kids in bed, went to the grocery store, wrote this blog post, and now I'm calling it quits {after I do emails, take a shower, paint my nails, and browse Pinterest until I pass out}. Good night!
