I think my favorite Saturday breakfast is french toast. Normally I make it the traditional way, but when I saw this recipe over on the blog Bakerella, I decided to give it a whirl, and I'm very glad I did! I like how the bananas are dipped in the french toast mixture and then rolled around in brown sugar before being pushed down in between the bread slices. They were so sweet after being baked! I made this on Friday night and let it sit overnight in the fridge, and then baked it the next morning. Piggie Smalls and my Luis both loved it.
4 eggs
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 large banana
6 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
Powdered sugar
Maple syrup
Those 2 little pieces of banana on the side were for Piggie Smalls 🙂 |
