1. My phone. This was tough to place at number one instead of coffee, but my phone holds my entire mom life in it's hands. It has my white noise app that I use for naps and before bed to keep my little monsters asleep. It has my camera to capture the random cute and forced moments. It has Instagram and Facebook for me to upload my cute and/or forced moments so I can have something to show off and look like I'm trying at motherhood. And it has the outside world...crucial for a stay-at-home mom so I don't forget how to interact with humans over five years old.
2. Coffee. Coffee is the sole reason I make the decision to live and give motherhood another go each morning.
3. Eggs. The perfect meal for when I have nothing else to make or I'm too lazy to put in more than 10 minutes of effort. Which is often.
4. Netflix. I don't know how my mom survived without it. Pretty much ever since I got pregnant with my second baby, I've used it as a babysitter. Judge away, it saves my children from me so it's a good thing.
5. Yoga pants. Apparently there's controversy these days on the enticing whore-appeal of yoga pants, but mine are usually stretched out and paired with my creepy day-old hair, so I'm pretty sure there is nothing enticing about me when I'm wearing them. You can't and shouldn't have to survive motherhood without yoga pants.
6. A hobby. The first two years of motherhood, reading about how to parent and raise children was my main hobby, but once I had my second child and shit pretty much hit the fan, I had to find a new hobby that didn't revolve around being reminded how much I sucked. I started to get into blogging and it feels really good to have a purpose other than being a mom.
7. Nutella. Nutella provides for my need of a legal, instant mood enhancer that isn't in the family of hard drugs or liquor.
8. The art of scrolling. I can't be a happy mom and let my Facebook feed affect me. All of the ignorant articles, holier-than-thou status updates and mommy wars can make me want to go on a throat-punching marathon, but I can't. So that means I use the skill of scrolling past said articles and people and not letting them ignite my soul on fire. 95% of the time. Sometimes it feels awesome to do some virtual throat-punching to release the occasional pent up, I-spend-all-day-with-small-children frustration.
9. Music. In a childless car. Loud. Is there anything better?
10. Pinterest. Pinterest in general is the happiest of all social media platforms because it's like a quiet room just filled with pretty and inspiring pictures. What my life has the potential to be when I have an extra million dollars and kids that are Pinterest-cooperative. Even though the latter will definitely never happen, Pinterest still makes my soul happy. Mainly because of the whole "quiet room" appeal.
And those are my top 10 mommy items that I use for survival! What are some of yours?

OMG! This is such a great post. Perfect, in fact. I relate to it 100%. I L-O-V-E LOUD music in a childless car, I do it all the time and I think I am so cool too. LOL! I become my own rock star or pop star in my head for that drive time. Silly me! Also, Pinterest = you explained it PERFECTLY!!! I feel the exact same way!! It's so relaxing for me to just look at all of their beautiful and fun photos. Dreamy! As for a hobby, eggs, phone, coffee and Netflix = all a must!!!! I LOVE THEM ALL WOMAN! I have never tried Nutella. Close your jaw. I never tried it. lol. I will have to, I guess. 🙂 xo

Cant there be two number ones?! Picking between a coffee and phone is too depressing lol and I don't understand the yoga whore thing at all. Yoga pants are sexy .0001% of the time. SERIOUSLY.
Jessica Dimas
Bahahaha yeah really, both are absolutely needed for survival and earn the number one spot. And thank you, yoga pants are the opposite of sexy!!!
Ileana
Yes x10!!! We had breakfast for dinner tonight because I didn't feel like making another meal today. And Netflix, no judgement that description is where I'm at right now. This post is just perfect!
